2018 RC Schools Leadership Summit - Calgary

The RC Education team held its annual RC School Leadership Summit at the FCJ Retreat Center in Calgary, AB on October 1-4, 2018.

There were twenty-seven attendees at the conference representing  nine RC or RC Affiliated schools (Canyon Heights Academy, Clear Water Academy, East Lake Academy, Everest Collegiate High School and Everest Academy, Everest Lemont, Everest Manila, Pinecrest Academy, Royalmont Academy, and The Highlands School) and the RC Education team.
 
The two-and-a-half-day schedule was centered on prayer (including daily Mass and Eucharistic adoration) and open-ended as well as directed collaboration among the attendees towards the accomplishment of the conference goals.   
 
The RC Education team gave presentations on:

• Educating Generation Z - Dr. Elena Orozco
• Strategies for effective school communication - Scott Barron
• Bringing apostolic formation from the classroom to the whole school community - Dr. Elena Orozco
• Tips for successful annual giving campaigns - Margaret Matthews
• An Introduction to standards-based grading - Dr. Yzobelle Leon
• Mastering Crucial Conversations: The Power of Dialogue - Renee Pomarico
• The importance of building relationships in One-On-One meetings - Dr. Margaret Richardson

The attendees enjoyed a dinner provided by Clear Water Academy as well as a tour of the school and an optional outing after the conference to explore Banff and the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada.
